Catalog Pantry Explorer (the “Extension”) is provided to let users search and view a manufacturer Catalog they explicitly select on their device and manage related official product pages, clips, notes, and history.
Information handled
The Extension handles the following information on the user's device to provide its features:
- The active tab URL and page title when the user interacts with the Extension
- Model numbers, Provider and Catalog metadata, and notes entered by the user
- Official-page clips saved by the user and history of official pages opened from the Extension
- The official product image URL stored with a clip
- A local PDF explicitly selected by the user
Active-tab information is used only after the user allows official-page follow and while the Side Panel is open, to check whether the current page is an official product detail page for a registered Provider and reflect it in Catalog viewing and clips. The Extension does not monitor while the Side Panel is closed, poll, collect general browsing history, crawl in the background, or scrape arbitrary websites.
PDF processing
A selected PDF is processed on the user's device with PDFium WebAssembly bundled with the Extension. The original PDF is held only in memory while the Panel and Worker are active and is not copied into Extension storage. A read-only file handle and bounded validation metadata are stored per Catalog in IndexedDB so Chrome can reconnect when permission remains available. Rendered page images are not stored persistently.
Storage, retention, and deletion
Provider and Catalog metadata, selection state, clips, notes, history, and official product image URLs are stored inchrome.storage.local, which Chrome provides to the Extension. Downloaded public indexes are stored as last-known-good data in IndexedDB on the user's device. Per-Catalog read-only PDF file handles are stored separately in IndexedDB. The original PDF, searched model numbers, clips, history, and personal settings are not sent to a server operated by the developer.
Clips and history can be deleted in the Extension. Other local data can be removed by clearing Chrome's Extension data or uninstalling the Extension.
External transfer, third parties, and advertising
The Extension does not send user data to the developer and does not sell or provide it to third parties. It does not use data for advertising, behavioral targeting, profiling, credit evaluation, or general market research. No analytics or crash-reporting service is embedded in the Extension.
Information handled by the Extension is used in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy's Limited Use requirements and only for the single purpose described above and to provide and improve user-facing features.
Only when the user selects “Update catalog information” in Settings and allows the optional distribution access does the Extension retrieve public Provider and Catalog presets, an index manifest, and the public index for an enabled, selected Catalog from https://registry.catalogpantry.com/. The public index URL path identifies the target Catalog, but the request sends no cookies, credentials, request body, searched model number, PDF, clips, history, or personal settings. There is no startup, timer, or background refresh. If the optional permission is denied or removed, the Extension uses only the local PDF and previously saved valid last-known-good data.
Optional access to a Catalog provider's primary official host is requested only when the user selects “Enable official-page follow.” The only currently supported host is https://www2.panasonic.biz/*. After permission is granted, only active-tab activation and URL-change events while the Side Panel is open are used to obtain a model number from the official product detail URL and title. The Extension reads one main product image URL only when clipping that detail page or revisiting it for an existing clip without an image URL. It does not read other page content, form input, or general browsing history.
When the user explicitly opens an official page or official search, or starts a selected Catalog download, Chrome connects to the destination HTTPS URL. The destination is a registered Provider's official origin or a built-in Provider's official URL. This connection does not pass through the Extension developer's server.
Permissions
This public website
This website measures only basic pageviews with Google Analytics 4 on the homepage and Catalog Pantry Explorer public pages. It does not use cookies or browser storage for that measurement, and Google Signals, advertising signals, user IDs, and Extension analytics remain disabled.
This measurement is limited to /, /explorer/, /explorer/privacy/,/explorer/support/, /en/explorer/, /en/explorer/privacy/, and /en/explorer/support/. Publisher-application and Catalog-request forms and the internal review screen are excluded from this measurement. This website does not embed advertising, general-user accounts, or browser storage for measurement. Cloudflare's network may process ordinary connection information to deliver the site over HTTPS and protect it from abusive traffic. The Catalog Pantry Explorer public page embeds an operation demo using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Playing the video connects to Google/YouTube, which may process ordinary connection information. The Google Privacy Policy applies to video playback.
After you follow a link to an external website, that website's policy applies. The behavior of this public website is separate from the Extension's on-device data processing.
Publisher applications and user Catalog requests
/en/publishers/apply/ accepts the submission type, manufacturer or company name, contact email, official website URL, official Catalog or leaflet PDF URL, listing request, use case and notes, and privacy-policy agreement. Email is required for publisher self-applications and optional for user requests. The form does not accept PDF files, images, design documents, search history, clips, bbox or vector data, arbitrary HTML or JavaScript, selectors, Recipes, or external endpoints.
The system adds locale, submission time, a random receipt ID, review status, privacy-notice version, and a non-PII normalized key for duplicate aggregation. Records are stored in a dedicated Cloudflare D1 database. Submitted URLs remain claimed information until human review. Raw IP addresses, User-Agent values, cookies, and Turnstile tokens are not stored in D1.
Publisher applications are used to review authority and official sources. User requests are used to identify demand and future Provider or Catalog outreach. A publisher email is used to confirm the submission and authority. An optional user-request email is used only when needed to verify the request or a deletion request; it is not used for listing notifications, email marketing, or disclosure to a manufacturer. Duplicate demand is counted by a normalized key that excludes email, comments, and design details. Individual user information, comments, and design details are not given to manufacturers. Submission does not promise action, listing, notification timing, or an individual response, and never causes automatic publication, recommendation, or training.
Raw application and request records are deleted within 180 days after submission. Non-PII request aggregates are deleted within 24 months after the latest request. An administrator runs the retention cleanup monthly, and only deletion counts are retained in its audit record. To request earlier deletion, send the receipt ID through theofficial contact form. An administrator hard-deletes the D1 record and recalculates the aggregate count for user requests.
The review screen is protected by Cloudflare Access with Google OAuth and is limited to administrators in@052.co.jp. The Worker validates the Access JWT signature, issuer, audience, expiry, and email domain and does not store the JWT or authentication cookie in D1. Google Analytics is not loaded on public-intake or internal-review pages. Cloudflare may process ordinary connection information for delivery, abuse prevention, D1 storage, and Access authentication, but intake data is not used for advertising, profiling, or email marketing.
Policy changes
If the information handled or its purpose changes, the publisher will update the Chrome Web Store listing and this policy, and will provide advance notice in the Extension when required.
